Avril Lavigne is typically a tough, punk rock chic who doesn't let anyone or anything get her down. In her video for 'Wish You Were Here,' she shows the softer side of her life.

'Wish You Were Here' takes a minimalist approach as most of the shots include Avril crying, sitting in a bathtubs, and on one occasion setting a flower on fire. And to make the look and feel come across as more authentic, Avril explained on Twitter that her emotions were produced without any stage tricks like onions.Avril seems to be feeling rather miserable about somebody in her video for Wish You Were Here, as she spends all of it moping on the ground. She sets fire to a flower and cries a lot, ruining her make-up in the process. There's an interesting bathtub scene, too, and Av does the whole thing in a rather sexy black dress.

Her newest single and video for “Wish You Were Here” is definitely more serious in tone and in look, but it seems like it’s serious for all the wrong reasons.
