Steve Wozniak freely admits that he can make one phone call and have the new iPhone 4S delivered to him

personally, well ahead of its launch. But the Apple co-founder — he was friends in high school with the late Steve Jobs — says he doesn’t want the surprise of the phone to be ruined for him. So, with the newest version of the iPhone being
released on Friday across the globe, Wozniak showed up at an Apple store in Los Gatos on Thursday and became the first person in line, sleeping overnight and planning to get his phone when its released to the general public, just like everyone else. Comment

Steve Wozniak likes to be the first person in line to buy the latest Apple products. This evening, the Apple co-founder and designer of the Apple I and II, was #1 on line outside the Apple store in Los Gatos, California to get the iPhone 4S. He tweeted about it and he’ll be staying up all night. TechCrunch TV caught up with Woz and asked him why he does it. He explains what feature the new phone has that will change his life. Woz also tells us why “search engines should be replaced by answer engines.” Nice to see Steve Wozniak being a true blue gentleman, waiting in line patiently just like everyone else for the iPhone 4S before it is released to the masses. Woz’s Twitter account placed him first in line at the Los Gatos Apple Store, where he tweeted, “The long wait begins. I’m first in line. The guy ahead was on the wrong side and he’s pissed.” I guess it always pays to be aware of the surroundings before you plant your rear end and lay claim to pole position – which might not be in the place that you’d like. Woz took his Segway there, and he’s obviously keeping himself occupied with a white iPad 2 in tow.
